Top Christmas Markets in Vienna
Vienna’s Christmas Markets run from the 14th of November to the 23rd of December. There are many fantastic Christmas Markets around the city for you to explore - we guarantee you’ll visit each multiple times!
Rathausplatz: The largest Christmas Market in Vienna takes place in front of the Town Hall (or Rathaus). Inside the Town Hall, you’ll find numerous festive activities for kids. Outside, you’ll find a twinkling, merry wonderland filled with ice skating, fairground rides and 150 stalls with decorations, artisan crafts and plenty of mulled wine and apple strudel.
Maria-Theresien-Platz: A short walk away is the smaller, but equally festive market at Maria Theresien Platz. In between the Art History and Natural History Museums, this market is home to 70 stalls of handcrafted goods and delicious, traditional Austrian food and drink.
Schönbrunn Palace: Feel like royalty exploring the Christmas Markets in front of Schönbrunn Palace. In addition to the traditional handicrafts, you can enjoy Christmas concerts and kids can try some of the children's activities which includes a Christmas workshop!
